We understand that the design of an artist's gallery space must be as personal and individual as the artist herself. We also understand the importance of designing a virtual gallery that will display consistently across a variety of computer types and browsers. All of our designs are "web standard compliant", which means that the quality of the gallery will be maintained for different browsers and computers. This also means that the site will download as quickly as possible to the visitor's computer. Images tend to download slowly but here at Darith we know how to minimize the download time. We will also design the site to engage your visitor's interest while she waits for the images to appear.
In keeping with our policy of providing highly individual web site design, we offer unlimited revisions during the design stage to ensure that your web site meets your expectations and accurately reflects your personality and your art. In addition, if you purchase one of our design packages, you will be entitled to at least one hour per month of site maintenance which may be used to update the gallery and make minor modifications. These provisions help to ensure that your site remains current, active and representative of your work.
There are many groups and Guilds in New Zealand supporting a number of arts and crafts. The needs of a group differ slightly from the needs of an individual and we are happy to design gallery space to suit the personality and style of the group. The space could include, for example, exhibitions of members' work, notices and schedules for meetings and events, information on upcoming exhibitions. As with all our packages, our group packages include a generous monthly update allowance.
For your piece of mind, all of our policies are included in our web design contract. When you decide to purchase one of our packages or work at an hourly rate, you can feel confident that your investment is protected. Our contract will clearly and precisely specify the work you have chosen and the time frame for its completion.
When you decide to open your virtual gallery, there are a few simple steps to getting started. First, you need to decide on a name for your site. It is a good idea to have a couple of names in mind just in case the name you decide on is already taken. The next thing you will need to do is to contact your internet supplier to arrange for them to host your site. Most suppliers will register your site name for you. This is all very easy to do, will take only a few minutes and we will be happy to guide you through the process. There are a number of very good website hosts in New Zealand. Many telephone and internet suppliers also have web hosting facilities. Again, we can supply all the information you need.
For us to build your site, you will need to supply us with digital images of your work and other graphics and a text file containing the text you wish to include. That's all. We will do the rest. You can send the images and text files by email, or on a compact disk, whichever is easier for you.
